The Information Resource Center (IRC) provides research
and reference services for Korean institutions and professionals
on various aspects of United States policy: international
relations, especially Korean-U.S. economic and security
relations, U.S. society, values and politics, and global
issues.
The IRC maintains a collection of approximately 4,200
volumes of interdisciplinary reference books, government
publications, and think tank reports. The IRC has 143
U.S. magazines and five newspapers titles in hardcopy.
An additional 750 magazines titles, some dating back
to 1986, are available through online databases.
The electronic information resources of the IRC include
the Internet and various online databases such as: Dow
Jones Interactive, First Search (OCLC), GaleNet, GPO
Access, Lexis-Nexis, Public Diplomacy Query (PDQ), ProQuest
Direct (PQD), Stat-USA, and TIARA U.S. Treaties Researcher
for searching current materials and for answering reference
questions. A CD-ROM network system is setup to provide
multi-client sharing of 9 CD-ROM titles.
The IRC is open to the public five days a week (Monday-Friday)
from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and is closed on official
American and Korean holidays. more
